Interviews
NASCAR Driver and friend David Stremme
Question #1 You were in a race with ten laps to go. You look in your mirror and you see Kenny Wallace at your left rear. It doesn’t matter what position you are in, but what would you do? What would this do to your driving style and how would you fend off his charge?? After the race and you see Kenny, what will you say to him? Have you ever seen Kenny texting @ the track??
Answer: With Kenny at my left rear, it would not make me uncomfortable. I've always enjoyed racing with Kenny, but there was a time at Bristol when I was behind him, everybody checked up and I got into the back of him, spun him and felt terrible and still think of it till this day.
Yes, I've seen Kenny texting all the time at the track. I'll even text him during the drivers meeting to see if his phone is on vibrate or not.
Question #2: Well now David, I presume everyone is going to ask the obvious, what is the worst or most embarrassing thing Kenny did to you. However, I want to take it in a different direction. I’ve meet you quite a few times (when you “hung out” with NCCS Jeff Priest, a buddy of mine) and I know you have a pretty great sense of humor too. So what was the best payback you did to Kenny after he “got you” with something?
Answer: Kenny has never really embarrassed me, but we do enjoy embarrassing other people together. When we are together we talk about the old racing days in ASA Racing.
Question #3: When did you first meet Kenny?
Answer: I first met Kenny and actually had a conversation with him was in the Nationwide Series when I was racing with him in 2003.
Question #4 What things do you do with Kenny at the track beside racing?
Answer: Kenny & I always get on the internet at the track and look at dirt modifieds constantly because I've always wanted to and have wanted to for the last several years.
Question #5 What is the funniest thing Kenny has ever said or done to you?
Answer: I don't know about funny but on a serious note, he has always told me to never hang your head and to always believe in yourself, even when others don't.
