What started at Daytona in February comes down to this Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The NASCAR Nationwide Series will race for the final time in 2009, and Kenny sits eleventh in driver points, just 41 markers out of the top ten. The team sealed up a top 20 spot in car owner points at Phoenix, meaning there will be some extra money from the point fund distribution in the offseason to help get things started for 2010. If Kenny finishes in the top ten, it will be his ninth season with a top ten point finish. Kenny is also the only three-time Most Popular Driver in series history. In nine races at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kenny has a best start of third and best finish of 14th. In Friday’s practice sessions at Homestead, Kenny was 36th fastest in the first and 41st quick in the second session (with many cars in qualifying trim in the second session).
