This week, the NASCAR Nationwide Series makes its final Western swing of the year to Phoenix International Raceway. PIR is a favorite track of Kenny’s, and he and the U.S. Border Patrol team are hoping a good run at the 1-mile track could help them move into the top ten in driver’s points in time for the season finale at Homestead next week.“I love Phoenix can’t wait to get there!” Kenny says.
In a dozen starts at PIR, Kenny ahs three top ten finishes, one top five, and an average finish of 18th. He has completed over 98% of laps in those races and boasts a best finish of fifth and a best start of third. He posted the 20th-best time in the first practice session and 27th-best in teh second practice, dusring which many of the other drivers run mostly qualifying setups. He'll go out 27th in the qualifying order on Saturday.
Kenny already had a great moment this week, when he pushed the first dirt car into his brand new race shop in St. Louis. He and Kim were able to go to St. Louis after the Texas race, just in time to move into the new shop.
