The NASCAR Nationwide Series mad a late-season swing through the Lone Star State and Texas Motor Speedway this week. They have a goal of finishing the season in the top ten in driver points as well as the top 20 in car owner points, and with two races to go, Kenny sits within 60 points of tenth in driver points. The No. 28 is 20th in owner points by a wide margin. Kenny finished seventeenth at Texas, and says that his cars are handling better that they ever have.“My car has been handling so well these last few races, but it’s the same story-the biggest problem for us is we just don’t have enough speed,” Kenny reports. “I drive it as hard as I can, especially through the corners-that’s just all the speed I have. Fortunately, I came out of Texas with a 17th pace finish . We capitalized on misfortunes and mistakes by other drivers. Our goal is to finish in the top 20 in owner points and the top 10 in driver points. We’re 55 out of the top ten in driver points, but we’re 180 points to the good in owner points. Making the top 20 in owner points means a lot of money for the team. That’s a big deal to our team so we need to keep working on speed. In the overall picture, we accomplished a lot this week The only thing can I can do is think positively. We can’t cry over spilt milk. We’re 180 points over the 10 car and 20th in points right now, and we need that money for the winter. So it was a success from that standpoint.”
